A study in play
Before the project could take shape, the frame of the house first had to be set right. The floors were leveled and parts of the structure were rebuilt, restoring a much-needed sense of underlying stability and balance. In doing so, the Westmount residence revealed itself as a perfect canvas.
From there, the vision embraced something more instinctive and expressive. Led by a client with a clear and assured point of view, the process felt energizing from the outset. The intention was not to restrain, but to lean into a language that felt bold, lush, and unapologetic. At the heart of the project, a sense of play guided by confidence rather than excess.
The space comes together with clarity and intent, where precision meets spontaneity. Subtle shifts, layered perspectives, and unexpected pairings create a quiet tension throughout. A dialogue between art and décor anchors the project, with each element an integral part of a larger composition.
Textures are rich, tones are saturated, and contrasts are deliberate yet intuitive. There is a lightness that runs through it all, and a touch of the whimsical that keeps the project from settling into anything too fixed or predictable.
The result is a home that feels expressive, personal, and fully at ease in its own language.
